Mechanical Surveyor

£45,000 per annum

An opportunity has become available for an experienced Mechanical Surveyor within our progressive Company supporting customers to whom we supply a wide range of specialist services.

The ideal candidate will have over 10 years’ experience within the FM services industry together with at least 3-year mechanical experience as mechanical project/contracts manager, capable of meeting the required relevant technical and safety standards, codes of practice and undertaking all necessary assessments on behalf of the Company. They must have knowledge of regulations and paperwork surrounding accredited bodies to ensure legislation and records are up to date with audits.

Duties of the Mechanical Surveyor/Estimator

  • Assess work projects to determine labour, materials and request best value from our suppliers for new and extra work requirements.

  • Keep well-organised records of business activity.

  • The management of labour and sub-contract labour.

  • Visit sites and liaise with clients to develop and build relationships.

  • Quotations, reports and evaluating our clients’ needs.

  • Educating customers about products/services are available and how to purchase them.

Key Skills

  • In depth knowledge of current and appropriate safety regulations.

  • Gas Safe Qualification required.

  • Excellent communication skills, both written and oral as the work requires interaction at all levels.

  • Negotiation, presentation, and report writing skills.

  • Ability to take ownership of any problems and analyse to identify solutions.

  • Commercial awareness and ability to ensure you are adding maximum value to clients' businesses.

  • Ability to take on high levels of responsibility be enthusiastic and motivated.

  • Hold a full UK Driving Licence.

  • Understanding and working knowledge of contractual documents.

  • Knowledge and ability to write detailed technical reports and quotations.

  • Building excellent working relationships with clients, contractors, and consultants to deliver planned works programs and to manage reactive repairs as required.

  • Review the agreed performance indicators for both contractors and consultants making sure you direct any improvements that are required.
