Heating System Power Flush – Full System Clean & Performance Restoration

Wing’s Technical Services carried out a full heating system power flush to restore performance, improve efficiency and extend the lifespan of the site’s heating equipment.

Over time, the system had built up sludge, magnetite and debris within pipework and radiators, leading to uneven heating, reduced efficiency and increased strain on pumps, valves and boilers.

Our engineers connected specialist power flushing equipment to the heating circuit and circulated high-flow cleaning chemicals throughout the entire system. Each radiator was individually flushed to remove trapped contamination, ensuring a thorough clean across all pipework and components.

Once the system was fully cleansed, it was neutralised, refilled with fresh treated water and protected with corrosion inhibitor to prevent future build-up and maintain long-term performance.

Following completion, heat distribution across the building was significantly improved, warm-up times were reduced and overall system efficiency was restored, helping to lower energy costs and reduce the risk of future breakdowns.

All works were completed with minimal disruption to site operations and in line with best practice for commercial heating systems.

FAQ

What is a heating system power flush?

A power flush is a deep clean of the heating system that removes sludge, magnetite and debris from pipework and radiators to restore performance and improve efficiency.

Why was the power flush needed on this system?

Over time, build-up within the system was causing poor heat distribution and reduced efficiency. The power flush restored flow and helped protect key components.

How was the power flushing carried out?

Specialist equipment and cleaning chemicals were connected to the system and circulated at high flow rates, with each radiator individually flushed for a thorough clean.

What were the results after the power flush was completed?

Heating performance improved, warm-up times were reduced, and the system was protected with inhibitor to help prevent future build-up and breakdowns.
